El-Zakzaky, Wife Freed By Kaduna State High Court Of All Charges

 

The Kaduna State high court sitting in Kaduna on Wednesday, Set free Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife of all charges levelled against them by the Kaduna State Government.

El-Zakzaky and his wife were charged before the court of culpable homicide, unlawful assembly and disruption of public peace by the Kaduna state government.

Justice Gideon Kurada in his ruling that lasted well over 8 hours, upheld the no-case submission filed by lawyers to Zakzaky and his wife.

The judge in his ruling held that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against the defendants.

Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, is a well known Islamic teacher and leader in Nigeria. 

He has had a running battle with the federal government for various reasons over the last six years, most of which he was incarcerated with his wife in prison.
