. Fresh concerns for Donald Trump's health
There are
fresh concerns over Donald Trump's health after he displayed a
bizarre mannerism during a speech in Washington.
The US
President used a moment of applause to take a swig from a glass of water he had
been keeping by the side of his lecturn.
But viewers
were baffled when he used both hands to drink from the small tumbler glass -
with some pointing out that he used the same technique a toddler might use.
One wrote:
"Trump reinvents the act of drinking water every time he does it."
Another
compared Trump's drinking style to that of Obama's, and described the current
President as drinking "like a four-year-old from a sippy cup."
A third even
suggested that his issues stemmed from the fact his hands were just too small
to hold the glass.
But while
some made jokes about Trump's weird habit, others were concerned that it is
another sign that the 71-year-old's health is at risk.

Tom Joseph
added: "With today's speech, anyone can clearly see Trump's crumbling
health.
"Slurring,
sippy cup-style water drinking, involuntary jerks & restricted eye
movements on display - part of his dozen+ symptoms of Frontotemporal Dementia.
"It's
degenerative, highly progressive & worsening every week."
Earlier this
month, the President appeared to slur his words during a major speech,
where he officially recognised Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel.
Trump seemed
to have trouble pronouncing’s’ sounds towards the end of his speech.
It led to a
bizarre moment as he finished his address, where he said: "Thank you. God
blesh you. God blesh the Israelis. God blesh the Palestinians and God blesh the
United Shtates."

Another
passage the President appeared to struggle with read: “And finally I ask the
leaders of the region, political and religious, Israeli and Palestinian, Jewish
and Christian and Muslim to join us in the noble quest for lasting peace.”
But a White
House spokesman insisted the President had a case of 'dry mouth', telling the
Los Angeles Times: "His throat was dry. There's nothing to it."
And in
November, his awkward sip of water during a speech on his return from
Asia sent social media into a frenzy.
Again, the
President grasped the bottle with both hands before taking a swig, using his
whole body.
Ironically, Senator
Marco Rubio was mercilessly mocked by Trump during the 2016 presidential
campaign for his water bottle gaffe during a speech years earlier.
Trump
ridiculed Rubio over an incident back in 2013, years before the billionaire
businessman expressed any political aspirations.
Rubio was
giving the GOP response to Barack Obama's State of the Union address when he
paused to reach for a water bottle while keeping his eye on the camera.
Trump
tweeted in response: "Next time Marco Rubio should drink his water from a
glass as opposed to a bottle would have much less negative impact."
He continued
to mock Rubio over the gaffe on the campaign trail, repeatedly tweeting about
it and even mimicking his water drinking while on stage in Fort Worth, Texas.
On November
9, 2015, Trump tweeted: "Marco Rubio couldn't even respond properly to
President Obama's State of the Union Speech without pouring sweat &
chugging water. He choked!"
Trump was
giving his latest speech in Washington yesterday, as he unveiled his national
security strategy in front of military service members.
