Ortom Denies Endorsing APC Candidate

Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom has denied a publication attributed to one of the leaders of Miyetti Allah, Garus Gololo, in which the All Progressives Congress APC Governorship flagbearer, Emmanuel Jime was said to be endorsed by him.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Ortom’s Adviser on Media and ICT, Tahav Agerzua, described the report as false while noting his principal will never participate in any sponsorship campaign of Jime.

Tahav said the attribution of the Sunday Publication to Governor Ortom was rather unfortunate.

He wondered how an interview with Gololo that expresses staunch support for Jime’s candidacy would become the handiwork of his principal.

According to him, “Gololo, the source of the published story, has been antagonistic of the Ortom administration such that the security agencies are looking for him to answer questions on threats to the life of the governor.”
