Senator Sani Accuses President Buhari of Intimidating Opposition
Senator
Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central in the upper house of legislature has
accused President Muhammadu Buhari of using the instrument's of the state to
intimidate opposition ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Senator Sani, who recently defected from
President Buhari's All Progressive Congress, made the claim in a tweet posted
to his Twitter handle late on Saturday, December 8.
According to
him, the erstwhile administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan used
different forms of state-orchestrated intimidation against the opposition which
was led by then president candidate of the All Progressives Congress Buhari.
History, he
claimed, was now repeating itself following the alleged intimidation of
opposition by the government of President Buhari himself ahead of the 2019
elections. He tweeted:
Although,
the senator did not reveal the specific cases of intimidation allegedly
committed against the opposition by President Buhari administration, his tweet
came just hours after main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) raised the
alarm over alleged intimidation on Saturday.
