“Kirikiri Prison Is Better Than This Indian Hospital… We’Re Coming Back Home” – El-Zakzaky
Leader of
the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky has lamented the
kind of conditions available in the Indian hospital he was taken to, alongside
his wife, Zeena.
The IMN
leader and his wife left the shores of Nigeria for India on the 12th of August,
amid very tight security.
Barely two
days after arriving India, known for its mastery of medicine and its plethora
of sound medical practitioners, El-Zakzaky has said the conditions they’ve been
subjected to in the hospital is worse than what is seen at the Kirikiri Maximum
Prison.
Zakzaky in
an audio said the doctors in India have seen a full bullet in his wife and said
her two knee cap bones are damaged and it will take a surgical procedure to
keep her fit.
He said a
metal shrapnel, believed to be from the bullets he was fired was found in his
eyes and that was what led to toxicity for him, and his bad health and stroke.
Zakzaky
further revealed that they were blocked from being approached or addressed
publicly as waiting supporters who were on ground to welcome them were not
allowed. He said the security operatives achieved this by sidelining the main
routes and changing their ambulance.
He revealed
that the Indian choice came because they felt they’d be properly treated but in
discordance, they’ve been facing even worse conditions than that they were made
to face in Nigeria.
In the audio
obtained by ALEDEH, Zakzaky said they would return to Nigeria to analyse the
situation if the conditions don’t improve. He also said that they have
options in Turkey, Malaysia and Indonesia.
