Ministers-Designate To Be Sworn-in August 21st

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has announced that the inauguration of all ministers-designate by President Muhammadu Buhari will hold on Wednesday, 21st August, 2019 by 11:00am at the Federal Executive Council Chambers, Presidential Villa, Abuja

A 2-day retreat for ministers-designate earlier scheduled for August 15 – 16 has also been rescheduled to Monday, August 19th to Tuesday, August 20th.

In a statement on Tuesday by Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Babatunde Lawal, the SGF invited all ministers-designate, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Federal Permanent Secretaries and top government functionaries (specifically invited) to the retreat to be presided over by President Buhari.

The retreat is to hold 9:00am daily at State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to Lawal, the objectives of the retreat include the following: build a strong platform for synergy and teamwork, sensitize appointees on the status of the implementation of policies, programmes and projects of government from 2015-date, acquaint the appointees with the roadmap for delivery of government’s priorities and next level agenda (2019-2023), deepen the understanding of participants on best practices in conducting government business.

He said attendance at both events is mandatory and strictly by invitation.
