Solskjaer Confirms Pogba, Martial and Shaw to Miss West Ham Clash

Ole Gunnar
Solskjaer says Manchester United will again be without Paul Pogba, Anthony
Martial and Luke Shaw for Sunday's trip to West Ham .
However, the
Norwegian is hopeful that Daniel James will return.
All four
players missed the 1-0 Europa League group stage win over Astana at
Old Trafford on Thursday night, when young forward Mason Greenwood grabbed the
second half winner to get the Red Devils' European campaign off to a perfect
start.
Solskjaer
made nine changes from last weekend's win over Leicester City against
the Kazakh outfit, and he's likely to make alterations again for the trip to
the London Stadium.
When pressed
on the absent quartet's fitness after the Astana game, he only sounded hopeful
over James' availability.
They've not
been training yet so I don't think so. [Luke] won't be ready," he said.
"Daniel
James? I don't know. He's not trained in the last few days. Hopefully, but not
sure. We'll have a recovery day with everyone tomorrow and we'll see on
Saturday."
Teenage
goalscorer Greenwood netted his first senior strike for United on Thursday, and
Solskjaer says that he is one of three fringe players who could force his way
into the Premier League side.
"It's
always hard to keep players who perform well out of the team," he said.
"I remember when I came in here... and if he keeps scoring goals, he'll
play.
"If he
keeps scoring goals when he's on the pitch he'll get more minutes in the
Premier League as well, and he'll get his first start [in the Premier League]
soon.
"Consistency's
key in football anyway, consistency in team selection and form. But you've got
players like Axel [Tuanzebe], Mason and Fred knocking on the door to be in from
the start."
