Man United Waiting on Three Players- Solskjaer
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Manchester United
are waiting on the fitness of three players ahead of the match at Bournemouth
on Saturday.
At his
pre-match press conference, the manager said he hoped Harry Maguire, Victor
Lindelof and Marcus Rashford would be okay to play after the trio picked up
slight knocks during the 2-1 win over Chelsea on Wednesday.
“It’s still
early,” Ole told reporters. “Hopefully we can get them back on the
pitch tomorrow.
“They got
some treatment yesterday, a little bit more treatment today, a light session
and hopefully they’re ready. I can’t tell you exactly now.”
The trip to
Dorset comes too early for Axel Tuanzebe, Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic, however,
with Solskjaer confirming they will not be part of the travelling squad.
Shaw hasn’t
played since August after suffering a thigh injury against Crystal Palace,
while Matic and Tuanzebe have been ruled out of contention for the last two
weeks.
Tuanzebe
picked up a hip problem during the warm-up against Liverpool, while Solskjaer
stated Matic would be missing for a short while in his post-match interview
after our draw with the Merseysiders.
“Yeah,
they’re not ready for tomorrow,” the manager revealed.
“Probably
after the international break. That is always a risk if you push them back too
early, but if we have the two extra weeks after the international break, they
should all be ready for then.”
Paul Pogba's
absence has already been confirmed after Solskjaer said the France
midfielder was likely to be out until December.
The
26-year-old is recovering from an ankle injury and hasn’t featured for the Reds
since the 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Old Trafford on 30 September.
Eric Bailly
is still a long-term absentee for United, having undergone knee surgery in the
summer.
