Ruud van Nistelrooy Made Cristiano Ronaldo Cry at Manchester United Training After his Father Died -Louis Saha

Louis Saha
has revealed his former Manchester United team-mates Ruud van
Nistelrooy and Cristiano
Ronaldo were involved in a row on the training ground.
Saha played
alongside Dutchman Van Nistelrooy for two years at Old Trafford while he
lined up alongside Ronaldo for four seasons between 2004 and 2008.
In a week
where Raheem Sterling's bust-up with Joe Gomez at England's training base
has dominated the headlines, Saha has shed some light on an altercation between
his ex-colleagues.
Did Ruud
make Ronaldo cry? Yeah, there were stories because I think they ended up in an
argument at the moment when Cristiano's father had passed away, so it wasn't
the right moment,' he told Four Four Two.
'Things like
that happen when two players have lots of spirit, but I'm sure Ruud regrets
some of his words.'
Ronaldo's
father, Jose Dinis Aveiro, died of liver failure at the age of 52 in 2005
when the Portugal international was just 20 years old.
His father,
an alcoholic and former soldier, missed out on much of Ronaldo's success and
the birth of his four children.
Saha has
conceded that he got on with Van Nistelrooy but admitted the former
Holland striker did not see eye to eye with ex-United manager Sir Alex
Ferguson.
'He was
always really nice with me; he maybe had a problem with the choice made by the
manager, but never with me. He was obsessed about goals, and I respect that,'
Saha added.
'I know some
people said I maybe pushed him to a move away from the club, but that's totally
b****cks. He was such a good player – he just had an issue with the manager –
and I was maybe good enough for the manager to replace him, but I could have
played with him, too.'
Former
United midfielder Roy Keane revealed this week that he had a run-in
with Peter Schmeichel during their time at the Red Devils.
'I've had a
fight with Peter Schmeichel in the hotel, it was in the lobby and to be fair it
was four in the morning, there wasn't many people around. And we got pulled by
the manager, he said we're both a disgrace,' Keane told ITV Sport.
'To be fair
to Peter he apologised but we moved on. It never affected us as team mates or
wanting the same thing. When I hear about the PR side of it where the players
have to apologise to the group, I don't get all that side of it.
'When lads
do have a bust up they end up being pretty fine afterwards, you've got to clear
the air. There's tension involved and players care.'
England
manager Gareth Southgate dropped Sterling for England's Euro 2020 qualifier
against Montenegro on Thursday following his fall out with Gomez on Monday.
Sterling
watched his Three Lions' team-mates secure Euro 2020 qualification with a 7-0
win at Wembley from the stands.
He also
heard some England fans boo Liverpool defender Gomez as he entered the field of
play as second-half substitute. Both manager Gareth Southgate and Sterling
condemned the jeering of Gomez.
