AMBODE RETURNS....

Former Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode will fly the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag in the by-election for the vacant senate seat following the demise of Senator Bayo Osinowo.

For political observers in Lagos, the Epe-born former governor will simply stroll to victory on account of sympathy from Lagosians who felt he was ill-treated in the face between him and his godfather, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Again, Tinubu appears to have forgiven Ambode hence the latter got the blessings of APC chieftains in the state to get a shot at the exalted senate seat. With these factors, there is no stopping Ambode. Surely the man is back!

Should Ambode expectedly and eventually emerge as Senator, he will follow the footprint of his godfather as the second man to be a Governor cum Senator in the state. Tinubu was a senator before becoming a governor. No other politician from Lagos has occupied both positions.

Who says, Ambode may not even return someday to complete his denied second term or tenure? His entry into the reverred hallowed red chamber obviously will clad him with more influence in the state. Who says, he can not be on line to replace his godfather if or when age eventually takes it toll on the latter?

Ambode is gradually putting on the robe of a child of destiny....a favoured child and a child of grace! His case is not totally about being forgiven by Tinubu or being loyal despite his initial faceoff with him. Many say, his present feat is a product of loyalty and humility. But there is the hand of God in all these.

Supposing Tinubu's heart was hardened by God like that of Pharaoh against Isrealites....(not to forgive Ambode?). Truth is God is behind Ambode for being upright and steadfast in governance which pitched him against his godfather. But thankfully all that is in the past now.
