Efunroye Tinubu Estate: Lagoon Park Global Resources Are Interlopers, Not Our Attorney – Family

 

.Power of Attorney Remains With Adamakin Investment

The family and trustees of the late Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu have dismissed the claim by Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited of its purported appointment as the family’s attorney, saying the reports circulated in some media, including the social media platforms, are not only false, but forged, phony and fake.

Warning Nigerians to be wary of the company, the family of the late Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu, made up of Sobowale and Lumosa branches, insisted that Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited are “meddlesome interlopers” and doing any business with them in respect of the family is not only dangerous, but also at great cost and risks.

The family reaffirmed that their power of attorney remains with Adamakin Investment and Works Limited, and not Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited as being purportedly circulated in some media.

The family said it took this position to correct the inaccuracies in the circulated reports and to finally put a stop to the evil machination of the Lagoon Park Global Resources aimed at unsettling and “fragmenting the family by all means and at all cost.”

A statement dated May 16, 2021, entitled ‘Rejoinder to Online Publication of Vanguard Newspaper of 16^th April, 2021, captioned ‘Public Notice’ by the purported office of Court Appointed Trustees of Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu Estate,’ explained that Sobowale family is one of the two units of the late Iyalode Efunroye Tiniubu that produced the four Trustees appointed by the court, including Mr Gabriel Fasetire and Chief Adams Bilade Lahan (now deceased) from Sobowale unit, and Alhaji Shittu Adio Kassim Lumosa and Alhaji Shafiu Kassim Lumosa, both from Lumosa unit of the family.

Consequently, the statement said the public notice by the Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited only succeeded in confusing the general public regarding “the state of the management of the estate of our revered matriarch, the late Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu.”

The family believed that Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited “is out to deliberately cause mischief in a bid to force themselves on the Trustees for the purpose of being appointed as attorney,” entreaties of which the family had earlier rejected.

“The publication of 16^th April, 2021 is part of the sordid campaign of calumny and a filthy desire to put themselves in the affairs of the estate,” the family insisted.      

In consequence of the publication and other similar ones, the family stated that it is compelled to state its positions in order to correct “the distortions, barefaced lies, misinformation and concocted innuendoes” for the benefit the public.

It stated that:

. That the High Court of Lagos State by an order dated 29^th day of April, 2002, appointed four Trustees to manage the Estate of Madam Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu. They are:

1.     Alhaji Shittu Adio Kassim Lumosa

2.     Mr Gabriel Fasetire

3.     Chief Adams Bilade Lahan

4.     Mr Shafiu Kassim Lumosa

. Chief Adams Bilade Lahan, from Sobowale unit, however, died and has been replaced by Mr (Rev) Musiliu Olarewaju Bakare from Sobowale unit to fill the spot as unanimously agreed at a the meeting of the family on the 11^th September, 2017.

. As part of its evil machination to continue its push to fragment the family by all means and at all cost, Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited, who has been the masquerade in the game of divide and rule, courted one of the member of the family, Mr Temilola Daud Adesanya, and ensured that he is appointed as a Trustee to help them open the elusive lid of appointment as an Attorney to the Estate, and indeed Mr Temilola Daud Adesanya was surreptitiously appointed by the Court without the consent and approval of the family members and the Trustees, upon presentation of false, malicious and misleading information to the Court.

. Not done with the above, the Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited organized a phantom press conference in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Friday, 14^th May, 2021, where it reiterated its appointment as Attorney to the Estate. At the conference, they ensured that Mr Gabriel Fasetire, one of the trustees, who has been incapacitated in discharging his duties and responsibilities as a trustee, was co-opted into the conference to give it air of legitimacy.

The family explained that there was no time “Mr Temilola Daud Adesanya was given the nod or authorized by the Trustees or members of the Sobowale (branch of the family) who are entitled to present him for appointment to the Trustees or a court, to be appointed as one of the Trustees to the Estate to fill in the gap created by the death of Chief Adams Bilade Lahan.”

Similarly, it said there was never a time or a meeting of the Trustees at which it was agreed that Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited be appointed as the sole Attorney or one of the Attorneys to the Estate of Madam Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu.

The family insisted that Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited “are meddlesome interlopers and the Trustees or the entire members of the Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu do not transact any business with or has anything to do with them in respect of the management of the Estate of Madam Iyalode Tinubu.”

Consequently, the family said “any purported power of Attorney paraded by them or any other person is false, forged, phony and fake and members of the public are hereby warned not to place any premium on it.

“The publications of 16^th April, 2021 in the Vanguard newspaper, 13^th April, 2021 in The Nation newspaper and any other publications in any media outfit by Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited and its agents purportedly to smear or disparage the sole Attorney appointed by the Trustees, Adamakin Investment and Works Limited and its promoter, Chief Akinfolabi Akindele, in the management of the Estate of the late Madam Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu had no endorsement or approval or knowledge of the entire family and Trustees of the Iyalode Efunroye Tinubu Estate, particularly of the Sobowale unit of the family.”

Specifically, it said there was never a time where the power of Attorney of Adamakin Investment and Works Limited was revoked. “Adamakin Investment and Works Limited (is and) still remains the only Attorney duly appointed by the Trustees and no other(s). These facts were confirmed by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Alagbon, Lagos, in his report of investigation dated 11^th February, 2016, and other numerous police investigation reports,” they stated.

The statement dismissed the recent publications in the media as being sponsored by Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited in order to further their machination, which the family “unequivocally” dissociates from.
