South East, South South Professionals of Nigeria (SESSPN), today celebrated the translation of Sir Victor Uwaifo, the super spreader of musical joy that went home today in a blaze of glory and honour worthy of the hero he was and earned.

In a citation celebrating the life and work of this great son of Benin kingdom, Nigeria and African, SESSPN traced the rise to greatness and declare him the Chair of a history Maker. Below is the text of the citation.

,"His families, both nuclear and extended, bound in mourning since his announced departure, have our deepest sympathies, and congratulations for a funeral lustre a Victor Uwaifo truly deserved.

We are proud that in the beautiful horizon of Nigeria's music ancestry, our "Guitar Boy", sat in the grand

chair of a history maker. We are happy that in Victor's ageless persona while he lived, the boundless sensations  he erupts on stage never diminished for once even at his solid eight decades plus.

His zest, drama and spectacular charm were signatures of highlife peerage that unified all hearts and legs in enraptured melody, whether performed or listened to. But, what really cut it deep for this scion of Benin imperial elegance, was that, aside being a classic tenderer of peoples happiness, his intellectual brilliance were lettered in excellence, ie, distinction in Yabatech, First Class in Uniben, outstanding in Msc, distinguished in his PhD, to exceptional instrument manoeuvre and manufacture. He made it what we celebrate and more.

That this humble begotten of March 1941, by sheer mastery in creativity left behind, a monument of entertainment architecture that spelt his name in dignity, etched his memory in reverence, and departed a super star icon deserved nothing less than celebrations and ululations.

Yes, for a life so packed with vibes, and decked with value in minted evergreen treasures, we salute Sir Prof. Victor Uwaifo on his seamless translation to the Angelic choirs of our great Eternal Omniscience, for a seat in the confraternity of immortals.

Adieu Sir Victor Uwaifo, the breathtaking entertainer. Fare thee well Prof. Uwaifo, the intellectual musicologist.
