NBA-SARC CHAIRMAN MEETS WITH LEGAL PRACTITIONER ASSAULTED BY NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE,

The chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association-Security Agencies Relations Committee (NBA-SARC) Chief Joe Kyari Gadzama SAN, at the weekend met with the lawyer that was assaulted by men of the Nigerian customs.

 Cheif Gadzama met with the Legal Practitioner has now been identified as Kolawole Isaac Abubakar, Esq., a senior lawyer at Refuge Chambers who hails from Kogi State in a meeting held on Sunday, February 27, 2022, 

 It will be recalled that the Gadzama-led Nigerian Bar Association-Security Agencies Relations Committee (NBA-SARC) had written to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Sevice, condemning the acts of the NCS as seen meted out to a man in a video that has now gone viral.

 The NBA-SARC further released a statement condemning the  acts of the NCS and urgently made a public invitation to the  Legal Practitioner in the viral video or anyone with relevant information on  the identity, name, and/or  NBA Branch of the victim, to come forward ahead of the NBA-SARC's planned visit to the customs

 The Legal Practitioner, identified as Kolawole Isaac Abubakar, Esq., a senior lawyer at Refuge Chambers, hails from Kogi State. 

 Mr. Kolawole Isaac Abubakar who visited alongside Mr. Friday Omakoji Abu and Danjuma Aliyu informed the Learned Silk that he was detained by the NCS for 3 hours on that fateful day in September 2021. 

 In his response, Chief Gadzama welcomed Mr. Kolawole and salute him for his courage in fighting injustice. He promise him that his committee has already written to the customs authority and they are in the follow-up process.

 “Let me say here that the NBA via my committee has taken this matter seriously and I promise you there will be a swift response from the customs by the time we meet with them and everything that you have listed as damaged must be replaced”
