We Are Yet To Released our manifesto-Peter Obi
Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential
candidate of the Labour Party, has said that his party has not formally
released its manifesto to the Nigerian voters.
In a statement
release to the press, Obi said when it is time, he will personally release the
manifesto. He also explained that it appears an earlier draft copy under review
has made its way into the public space.
But that until
he releases the approved and final draft, Nigerians should disregard what is
being circulated.
“We have not
formally released our Manifesto. I will do so personally. It seems an
earlier draft copy under review has made its way into the public space. Until I
release the approved and final draft, please disregard what is being
circulated. -PO”, he said.
However, salient
points in the 48-page manifesto in circulation include securing Nigeria, ending
banditry and insurgency and uniting our dear nation to manage to manage our
diversity such that no one is left behind.
Others include
production-oriented growth for food security and export, moving Nigeria from
consumption to production; restructuring the polity, through effective legal
and institutional reforms to fight corruption and enthrone rule of law and all-inclusive
and effective government.
It also includes
Leapfrogging Nigeria from an oil-dependent economy to the 4th Industrial revolution, with massive investment in new
technologies; expanding physical infrastructure, with focus on critical sectors,
like power, multi-modal transportation, gas pipeline, etc, through efficient
Public-Private partnership reform, PPP, unleashing growth-enabling
entrepreneurship and market-creating innovation.
Another
highlight is youth engagement and human capital development that improves the
quality of life of workers and families and productivity-enhancing education
that empowers labour competitiveness and robust foreign policy that restores
Nigeria’s strategic relevance
