Edeoga To Appeal Enugu Tribunal Judgement On Governorship
Chijioke Edeoga, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu State, has vowed to challenge the judgement of the Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which affirmed Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the duly elected governor of the state.
The
tribunal, chaired by Justice Kudirat Murayo Akano, had struck out Edeoga/Labour
Party’s allegations of over-voting, bypass of BVAS in the election, and forgery
of the NYSC certificate.
But reacting
to the judgement through the spokesman, Edeoga/Nwokeabia Campaign Organisation,
George Ugwu, Edeoga urged his supporters across the state and in other parts of
the country to remain calm, law-abiding, and to go about their businesses
without fear or hindrance.
He assured
his supporters of his preparedness to challenge the outcome of the judgement at
the Court of Appeal and to all extents as permitted by law.
Edeoga said:
“We retain a firm belief in justice, and will go the full extent legally
possible in ensuring that the hopes of Enugu people who turned out in their
numbers to vote for Labour Party candidates on March 18, 2023, are realised.”
