FCT High Court Denies Emefiele’s Request for UK Medical Trip

 A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Maitama has denied an application from former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele for permission to travel for  follow-up medical check-up in the United Kingdom (UK).

In a ruling on Tuesday, Justice Hamza Muazu held that Emefiele did not provide sufficient evidence to demonstrate that the medical trip was essential and unavoidable.

Justice Muazu noted that although Emefiele claimed he had an invitation to travel to the UK for medical attention, he failed to present a copy of this invitation in court. Additionally, the judge pointed out that Emefiele did not prove that his ailment could not be treated within Nigeria.
