I Want to Avoid Post –Elections Controversies – Sanusi

The Emir of
Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has decided to avoid controversies on the recently
concluded elections.
He disclosed
this while speaking during a dinner organised to celebrate the 125th
anniversary of First Bank of Nigeria Limited in Lagos on Tuesday.
“My new
post-election resolution is to avoid controversies; economics, politics,” he
said.
Sanusi, who
was the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria
(CBN), stressed how important it is for the government to have good plans
for the country, in order to eradicate poverty.
“My prayer
is that with these elections, the government would not think of these four
years, but the government would think of Nigeria 125 years from now,” he said.
He added
that it is necessary to discuss the issue of poverty and malnutrition in
the country and pay attention to girl child education; referring to the story
of a woman, who lost her child while she was seeking for financial support to
buy drugs less than five dollars.
