Nigeria May Recall Ambassador To South Africa
There are
strong indications that Ambassador Kabiru Bala, the Nigeria High Commissioner
to South Africa may be recalled by the Nigerian authority, according to reports
reaching our news room.
Ambassador
Bala was recalled following the xenophobic attacks melted on Nigerians in South
Africa, a presidency source disclosed on a condition of anonymity on Wednesday.
According to
the source, there are strong indications that the Nigerian government has also
demanded full compensation for the victims of the attacks.
The source
further revealed these was the outcome of the early Wednesday’s meeting
between President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and Foreign Affairs Minister,
Geoffrey Onyeama.
The meeting
was aimed at brainstorming on the raging Xenophobic attacks of Nigeria in South
Africa and the violence response from Nigerians following the South African
attacks.
The federal
government has also pulled out of the World Economic Summit scheduled for Cape
Town, South Africa over fresh attacks of xenophobia
